Map of Japan with the islands of Amami-Oshima, Okinawa, Mijako-jima and the neighbouring islands, and Hokkaido shown as insets, the latter on the reverse. The main map is clearly drawn and shows the major road network, with some secondary roads also marked. Road numbers and intermediate driving distances are given and scenic roads highlighted.  The rail network is also marked together with ferry routes and airports. Relief shading is used to indicate terrain and volcanoes and spot heights shown. The map also shows national parks, beaches, viewpoints and a variety of places of interest.

An index of places is given along the bottom of the map, while the reverse of the map features a wealth of travel information in German, English and French together with a distance chart. The reverse also includes indexed street plans of Tokyo and Kyoto city centres.
